Docs / Mesh

Mesh topology

The operator console renders the mesh as it is observed by the coordinator: paired peers, role assignments, and round-trip times. The coordinator only handles peer rendezvous metadata. Plaintext payloads, prompts, and completions never traverse it.

Device roles

Origin

The device that initiated the mesh. It owns the local pairing record for its peers.

Lead Device

A device that schedules inference, tile-streams, or workload distribution within a paired set.

Inference Node

A device that contributes inference capacity to the mesh.

Anchor

A device that helps stabilize peer rendezvous when other peers come and go.

Note: Coordinator is the cloud rendezvous service, not a device role.

Peer round-trip time

The console reports observed RTT to each peer. This is sourced from the WireGuard® overlay, not from plaintext probes. Numbers vary by network, location, and load.
